Does the National Health Service still exist? With citizens forced to pay out of their own pockets for necessary visits and examinations, perhaps requested at a great pace by an oncologist, a cardiologist, a neurologist who has ascertained an ongoing pathology; if the difference between life and death, between feeling good and suffering is disposable income, as La Repubblica said yesterday, can we still talk about a free and universal service?
